Supply Drive to Assist Lexington/Bedford Migrant Sheltered Families

We have a tremendous opportunity to assist our newly arrived Haitian neighbors being housed in Lexington and Bedford. As these individuals and families begin to transition to apartments, we are trying to do all we can to support them and extend the love of Christ to them.

From volunteer coordinator Dinna Louissaint: “I am so grateful to the Grace Chapel community for being a vessel of hope for the Haitian migrants in the surrounding communities.  The warmth and welcoming faces, as well as the tangible gifts, have made the transition much easier for the families.  Most importantly, they know that caring hearts and hands are present and ready to support them when feasible and to show God's love for them. As I mentioned, several families at the Lexington Armory are in dire need of support.  I am happy to report that some have started to transition to apartments throughout the Boston area and surrounding communities. They are so blessed to have the support of the Grace Chapel - Lexington members and staff.  I am equally blessed to be part of a team that is caring, engaged, supportive, and eager to share the love of God to the communities we serve.”

For the next few weeks (January 12th - February 2nd), we will be running a drive to collect much-needed new household items to assist these new immigrants: bedspreads/comforters, blankets, bedsheets (queen, full, and twin sizes), bed pads, pillows, towels, kitchen accessories, dishes, pots and pans, blenders, and coffee-makers. All items should be NEW ONLY. Please bring your donations to the collection bins in the Common, to the right of the Courtyard. Any questions? Please reach out to Dinna at . Thank you in advance for all you will do to love our new neighbors!
