Who exactly is Jesus? What kind of God would come to earth as a human? As Christmas approaches, the season of Advent offers us a chance to reflect on our savior, his purpose, and the surprising ways he invited people near to him. Join pastor Derwin Gray in this four-session Advent study as he unveils King Jesus—the God-man who defied expectations, the king of all creation who humbled himself to serve and die, the friend to sinners who wants to lift us up.
Derwin L. Gray is the founding and Lead Pastor of Transformation Church, a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, mission-shaped community with two campuses in South Carolina just south of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Preregistration is recommended; contact Bo Kaufmann.
Lost World of Genesis One (in-person and Zoom)

- Thursdays at 7 PM on Zoom only, starting September 19
The facilitators are Doug Mostrom and Bo Kaufmann, and the class runs for 11 weeks.
In this mix of cultural critique and biblical studies, John Walton presents a literary and theological understanding of Genesis 1 within the context of the ancient Near Eastern world and unpacks its implications for our modern scientific understanding of origins. Ideal for Christians with an interest in the intelligent design controversy and creation-evolution debates, Walton's thoughtful analysis unpacks seldom appreciated aspects of the biblical text and sets Bible-believing scientists free to investigate the question of origins.
Dr. Walton will teach on video, and we will follow that with a class discussion. This course is based on his book The Lost World of Genesis One (InterVarsity Press), available for purchase at IVPress.com or at Amazon.com.
Preregistration is recommended; contact Bo Kaufmann.
