About the Event

LexingtonLexington HighlightMissions

Turn your Used Android Devices into Tools for Reaching Peoples in Africa with God’s Word. If you are interested in donating Android smart phone or tablet devices, please bring them to any one of our Sunday Services in Lexington on October 13, & 20. Our mission volunteers will be stationed in the lobby to collect your devices. Thank you for considering this excellent opportunity to recycle used electronics to bring God’s Word to distant lands!

Who is sponsoring this Android device collection?
This drive is sponsored by the Partner Care Team for Jeff and Judy Heath, Grace Chapel partners serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Chad, Africa. Jeff is a language technology consultant, and Judy is a Bible translation consultant.

What will the collected Android devices be used for?
The devices collected will be taken back to Chad where they will help church leaders and evangelists using local languages like Chadian Arabic in their ministries. They will provide access to the Bible in a language people can easily understand, sometimes in places where a printed book might cause persecution.

What will happen to the personal data on my device?
We will ensure that all personal info is removed before passing the device on.
If we are unsuccessful, the device will be destroyed.
Feel free to remove your personal data yourself, by performing a factory reset. However, it is very important that you first remove all Google accounts from the device before resetting it. (The accounts themselves aren’t being deleted, only removed from the device.) If this isn’t done, the device would require a password after it is reset, rendering it unusable for the work in Chad!
We would be happy to help you reset your device when you bring it to the drive.

Thank you for your help!
Jeff and Judy Heath and the Partner Care Team
