Sacred Space
Scripture: Joshua 24:15, 1 Peter 3:8-9
- Have you ever noticed that how what is going on in your home has a huge impact on the rest of your life?
- I’m guessing you:
- weren’t expecting to be living like you are right now
- missing out on so many things you were planning
- A bit of tension
- We all know this, when our home life is a mess, it impacts the rest of your life
- Our emotional life is a mess.
- Often our physical life is a mess.
- We can’t sleep, we feel anxious, we feel unsafe.
- But when our home life is going well, everything else goes better for us.
- We can live into these other places
- We can live into these other places
- Your home is a sacred space
- Every square foot of it is holy ground.
- Every square foot we walk on everywhere is holy ground
- If we are followers of Jesus, then everywhere we go we bring Jesus
- Including your home
- All of it is connected to God.
- It is a place to become more like Jesus.
- It is a place to become more like Jesus.
- 1 Peter 3
- “So that nothing will hinder your prayers…”
- There is a direct connection between your
- life at home and
- your life with God
- Our homes are not perfect
- Our families are not perfect
- We are not perfect
- So, how do you and I as individuals have an impact on our home life?

- If serving the lord seems undesirable to you then choose who you will serve
- But as for me and my family we will serve the Lord
- Pray Every Day
- Don’t grab phone first thing
- Lord help us to have the peace to accept the things I can’t change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
- Choose to Serve
- Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble 9 Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.
