Christmas 2024 at Grace Chapel

Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room

How do you prepare for Christmas? Perhaps your family has certain traditions you follow in the weeks leading up to Christmas Day. Or maybe you go about in a flurry of shopping, baking, and decorating, just trying to make it through December.

But how do we prepare for Christmas and the arrival of the baby Jesus? How can each of us prepare our hearts, minds, spirits for Christmas, for what God has to show us or say to us? How can we make space in our hearts for God’s gift of being with us?

Join us this Advent season as we explore the ways we can prepare our hearts to receive this gift.

Christmas Eve Services at Grace Chapel

Grace Chapel’s Christmas Eve Candlelight Services are a beautiful blend of new and traditional, creative and timeless. Whether you come with family, friends, or on your own, everyone is welcome at Grace Chapel.

Advent Meditations

Come, let us adore him.

December is upon us, and with it the season of Advent. It’s so much more than the hectic weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Advent means “arrival,” and we move through these days knowing that God’s plan is always in motion, that the world waited lifetimes to hear those angel voices and the cry of a human, holy child. We are reminded that our weary world waits still for the one who will rule with truth and grace. And as we wait, we prepare our hearts.

Our Advent meditation series “Come, Let Us Adore Him” is designed to help ground your Christmas season with reflections on Jesus’ birth and the Christmas story.

Beginning on December 1, the first Sunday of Advent, you can find a new meditation each Sunday on the Grace Chapel's Thoughtful Faith blog, followed by five excerpts or verses from the Bible on the same theme, for your reflection and encouragement during the week.

You can also receive app notifications for each post in the Grace Chapel app, Grace Chapel Connect. Simply open the app, tap your profile in the upper right hand corner of the screen, then select the "Settings" wheel, also in the top right corner of the screen. In this menu, you'll find "Notification Categories" as the second option. Open this option and select "Watch, Listen, Read" and you will receive notifications to your phone any time Grace Chapel publishes new and valuable content to grace.org, including these Advent Meditations.

The week’s meditations will complement the Advent sermon series, Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room.

So come—let us adore him, as we make our way to the celebration of Christmas, the arrival of God with us.

Special Offering

It has been our long-standing tradition every Christmas Eve to receive an offering that we give away entirely outside the walls of our church. We have been doing this for years!  It’s a simple way of expressing our gratitude to God for the gift of His Son, and of extending Christmas love and care to needy people and places in our world.

This year, our Christmas Eve offering will be distributed to meet both local and global needs.

Locally, half of the special offering will go to Fostering Hope of New England. Fostering Hope empowers churches and individuals to care for children and families impacted by foster care.

Globally, half of the special offering will go to Cedar Home for Girls and the Resurrection Church in Beirut, Lebanon where our partners, Karim and Rita Anayssi worship and serve. All of the funds provided for relief in Lebanon will be matched dollar for dollar by the GROVE Group, doubling the impact of your generosity as we share Christ’s love with many hurting people in Lebanon.

You can learn more about these partners here...

Give Now

While the Christmas season is a time of joy and hope, we know that for many, the holidays can also be a time that brings up pain, hurt or stress.  For those struggling in these areas, the Christmas season can be lonely or overwhelming.

Blue Christmas is a non-traditional service that acknowledges the pain, and offers hope to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one, or hurting during the holiday season.

All are welcome and encouraged to bring friends or family members that may be going through difficult times.  Stephen Ministers will be available for individual prayer following the service. Please join us.
